Informational Purpose Only
The Claim Truth provides information for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this website constitutes professional insurance advice, legal advice, financial advice, or a recommendation to purchase or avoid any specific insurance product or provider.
You should consult a licensed insurance professional before making any insurance purchasing decision. Your individual circumstances, coverage needs, and available options may differ materially from the generalizations presented on this site.
Grades Are Opinions Based on Public Data
All letter grades (A through F) and associated summaries on this website are editorial opinionsderived from publicly available data published by government insurance regulators. They are not statements of fact about any insurer's financial condition, solvency, licensing status, or overall quality.
Grades reflect relative complaint rates compared to industry averages as reported by state regulators. A lower grade means a company received more complaints relative to its peers in the available data — it does not mean claims will be denied, that the company is unsafe, or that policyholders will experience poor service. Conversely, a high grade does not guarantee a positive claims experience.
Data Sources — Public Record Only
All complaint data used on this website is sourced exclusively from official publications of state insurance regulatory agencies, including but not limited to the California Department of Insurance, Missouri Department of Insurance, Texas Department of Insurance, Indiana Department of Insurance, and other state regulators listed on our methodology page.
We do not solicit, receive, purchase, or use data directly from insurance companies. We do not use non-public, proprietary, or confidential information. All source data is a matter of public record and is available directly from the respective regulatory agencies.
No Commercial Relationship With Insurers
The Claim Truth has no advertising, sponsorship, referral, affiliate, or any other commercial relationship with any insurance company, insurance agency, or insurance industry organization.
We do not accept payment to alter, suppress, improve, or remove any grade, rating, summary, or mention of any insurer. Rankings and grades are determined solely by the underlying regulatory data and the methodology described on this site. No insurer has any ability to influence how they appear on this website.
Methodology Transparency
Our complete grading methodology — including the exact data sources, normalization approach, grading thresholds, and the code used to produce grades — is documented on our methodology page. Any insurance company, regulator, journalist, or member of the public may review and verify our methodology and independently reproduce our grades from the same public source data.
Data Accuracy and Currency Limitations
Regulatory complaint data is published annually. Scores on this website reflect the most recently available data from each source at the time of our last update, which is noted on each score. Insurer complaint rates change over time — a grade based on 2023 or 2024 data may not reflect current claims handling practices.
While we make reasonable efforts to accurately process and present regulatory data, we make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any information on this website. Data processing errors are possible. Users should verify information against primary sources for any consequential decision.
User-Submitted Content
This website may display claim experiences submitted by users. User submissions are self-reported, unverified, and represent the opinions of the individual submitters only. User-submitted content does not reflect the views of The Claim Truth and is labeled separately from regulatory data at all times.
We reserve the right to remove user-submitted content that we believe to be false, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate. We do not independently verify the accuracy of user submissions.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Claim Truth and its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, any information on this website — including but not limited to damages arising from insurance purchasing decisions made in reliance on grades or summaries shown here.
Your use of this website is at your own risk. This website is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
Fair Comment and Public Interest
This website exists to serve the public interest by making government regulatory data more accessible to consumers. The analysis and opinions expressed here constitute fair comment on matters of public record and public concern. All factual claims are based on, and traceable to, official government publications.
